You can setup a HomePage on Alamak, and either upload to your personal freehome directory, or edit your pages online using a web form.

You can also edit and PUBLISH you web pages directly including personal images, backgrounds, and files. You can use the built in web editor built into Netscape, Internet Exporer, or AOL. This requires no knowledge of HTML and web programming language, you can make and edit your homepage just like using a word processor!

Once you create your Alamak HomePage we will proide instructions on the easiest method to create and edit your site as well as provide you with a default template.

Since only Operators can make HomePages on Alamak and these are paid accounts we have no annoying popups or advertisements. We request but do not require that you link our chat site.

Conditions - We do insist that you do not link, advertise, or otherwise promote other chat sites or sites with competing services. We also insist that you not put on your site or files involved in hacking, illegal distribution of copyrighted material, promote or carry out any illegal activietes, or pages with intent to harrass or disparage others. You also may not mention Alamak in any negative way. Failure to comply with these simple guidelines will result in removal of your account without compensation. By creating an Alamak HomePage you agree to these conditions!

Possibly the easiest way for some people to upload pages is to create them on thier own PC using the web editor built into Netscape Communicator. Then just go to our
Alamak HomePages File Upload page and select the files off your drive you wish to upload. You can upload 4 files at a time.

To publish pages with Netscape PUT PUBLISHING, first click on the link above to go to your HomePage, we've provided a simple template which you surely want to change.

Go under the File option and select Edit. This will open a new window with the page in editing mode. You can then edit the page just like you would a word document.

Once you are ready to publish select the option Publish. This will give you a popup allowing you to do things like pubish associated files etc and enter a login and password. Enter your Operator Nickname and Operator Password for the login and password options.

If you get an error, can't get and publish fcn.cgi ( our homepage counter ) don't worry about it. You can't retrieve it or publish it but you can still use it on our site to see how many people visit your HomePage.

You can also create an Alamak Guestbook and link it from your new Alamak Homepage!

Follow something similar as with Netscape Communicator for PUT PUBLISHING. You should be able to edit and publish your pages though the specifics may be slightly different.

You can also create an Alamak Guestbook and link it from your new Alamak Homepage!

This creator can also move your HomePage to another directory. Just input your new directories. If you have an existing Alamak HomePage we'll move it to the new location assuming it isn't already taken. If you don't have an existing Alamak HomePage this will create it for you.

This counter only works with Alamak HomePages.

On your default Alamak HomePage we have provided a counter, this counter only updates when it gets a new hit .If you hit reload it is unlikley to increment because the image will be in your cache and not be loaded again until it expires from your cache or is loaded by another person. Just because it isn't incrementing when you hit reload doesn't mean it is not working.

To view the counter help at any time, right click on the counter image and load the image by itself, this will trigger display of help!

Once you understand what options your want for your counter, go into the page editing mode described above, right click on the image, select Image Properties and change the URL as explained below. Once you've set it up, just publish your page. In netscape you might have to select "use original image size" if it looks stretched.

1. Link the file as <img src="http://alamak.com.sg/cgi-bin/counter/fcn.cgi"> on your homepage.

2. You can control the foreground and background color or make it transparent
   • Use fore=[colorcode] to set the foreground text color
   • Use back=[colorcode] to set the background color
   • Use back=t or back=transparent to make the background transparent

3. To set these options make your URL like

   <img src="http://alamak.com.sg/cgi-bin/counter/fcn.cgi?fore=00FF00&back=000000">

   This is green text with black backgrond.

   Use

   <img src="http://alamak.com.sg/cgi-bin/counter/fcn.cgi?fore=00FFFF&back=t">

   for CYAN text but transparent/invisible background for example.

4. Color codes are 6 hex digits includeing 0-9 and A-F. The 6 digits are divided into 3 sets of two digits each for red green and blue.
   • Some Examples:
   • RED = FF0000
   • GREEN = 00FF00
   • BLUE = 0000FF
   • YELLOW = FFFF00
   • CYAN = 00FFFF
   • MAGENTA = FF00FF
   • WHITE = FFFFFF
   • BLACK = 000000
   • ORANGE = FF6600
   • LIGHT BLUE = EEEEFF
