My background is socio-cultural anthropology and development studies (MA and MSc), and I am interested in the gaps among the gender-oriented population policies, feminist movements and people's everyday experiences on reproductive behaviours. I also studied in the U.S. and came back to Japan last summer. Then I realized feminism is not welcomed in this country, including the academia, probably because recent exciting social scientific theories and discussions by some feminists outside Japan have not been read by people... I only wish you could come back to Iowa and see us. We are now milking 200 cows and have a new freestall barn that holds 160 cows.
