Comments What can I say? I was brought up in the arcades - I used to play every week at an American base that had all the newest games, Rygar, Operation Wolf, you name it, and I loved it. I adore all the old arcade machines with their superb games and Coke-spilt joysticks. They were great. Oh, and if you could find an old Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road Racer or an even older Gauntlet or Rampage then I would be eternally grateful just for a chance to play them again. Cheers!

Comments Hi there, Ive been thinking about this for ages.... and I think Im just going to do it now! I want to buy a cabinet, and just have it at home and never ever stop playing it!!! Ive been reading up a bit on all this and it sounds really difficult to take this up as a hobby, as I dont think Id ever have much chance of fixing one if it went wrong!! Id like to get a cabinet that can play JAMMA games (that right) then they can be interchangeable right? so I can buy different types of games to play on the one cabinet.... my favourite game of all time has to be wonder boy...ever had that? of course all money depending!! I want to do this without breaking my wallett so much :) If anyone has any tips or info regarding starting to do this email me!!! Id really appreciate it..... Thanks a lot Vikki

Comments Hi, I love your Home Page and was wondering if you have ever seen or heard of a game called Tactician (Sega/Gremlin 1981). In this game you move a ship the same way as you do in gaplus, but prior to every level you get about 10 seconds to build a barrier to defend yourself from the the above enemy. Once you lose your barrier the enemy begins to bounce around the bottom of the screen. I haven't played this game for a long time, but would very much like to buy the machine or at least get the roms for it.

Comments Great site, I only found it today. I've been looking for a place to buy old arcade machines in England, the rest are from the USA. The only problem now is money! I am almost ready to post my own arcade site, but mine focuses on Pinball. I will give the URL in another message, when it's done. When I get round to it! I can afford to do a long message as I am in college (WMC) and its not my money!

Comments I forgot to ask, where is that dump? That dump picture was honestly the saddest thing I've ever seen. I honestly almost cried. I had to stop myself because I almost forgot I was in the computer area of the library. It would look stupid if I suddenly started crying in the library, and then they realised it was over broken arcade machines. I'd never live it down! I must be so sad! Am I the saddest case? Or did you react the same way?

Comments Have you seen the new Pinball 2000 machines from Williams? They look like an upright arcade cabinet, with the playfeild of a pinball machine stuck where the controllers should be. When I first saw one I went "wow, it looks like an arcade machine with a pinball playfeild where the controls should be.

Andy Conlan (again! again!) ( 26/5/1999 )
OccupationYeah, yeah
Comments I haven't had a chance to play a Pin 2000 machine yet, my local arcade is rubbish. They have a needlessly large ammount of NeoGeo machines (about 12) the newest machine they have is Daytona (2 player) which is ruined because they have put it facing the sunny window and so one of the monitors has gone a faded purple colour. They have various other early '90s machines. There are other non-graphical games like pulling Excallibur (probably spelt wrong) from a fiberglass stone to measure your strength, that weird one were you have to hit little plastic things that pop up, but someone has pulled one out so theres a hole, theres that one where you have to stand on lights on a web to "stomp the spiders" oh, and theres the one where you have to hit crabs (hehe) that come out from under the fiberglass rocks, but someone has pulled off the center set of rocks so the crabs are visible all of the time. Theres another one were you and a friend each control a robots arms to hit each others robot, but the blue robots right arm is permanently locked, I know this because I won against my mate and that was his excuse I cant remember the name of the thing but it had the caption "One day all wars will be forght this way!". The only other machine worth mentioning is the Atari "Race drivin'" which in my books is a classic and no arcade is complete without one, but ours is incomplete even if it does have one. There are some fruit machines, but I don't use them. They dont even have any pinball, I have to go to the bowling alley next door to play their single machine "Mario world" which has a flickery dot matrix on which half the pixels are gone or on their way out. This is why I make numerous trips to Blackpool!!!

Comments I am in the process of re-decorating my room. I have just aquired a sofa and may start saving up for a tabletop machine. It would add the finishing touch to an almost perfect room. Comments I am only asuming destruction derby is a table top because I havent seen one in real life. I assume this because on the emulator playyers 3 and 4 are up-side-down. I didn't have much of a go as I had to delete it the next day :) obviously!

Comments The first time I played a table top machine was in the TV room of a hotel (the name escapes me) in Blackpool about 3 or 4 years ago, I've wanted one ever since, I think the game was Commando or somthing similar. I really don't think I have room for an upright cabinet machine in our house so a tabletop is a realistic alternative, and I can collect it myself in the back of the car, which is also nice and cheap. Anyhow, if no-one can get hold of demolition derby I will probably consider any others. I may also be up to doing up an old messed up one, the only thing I'm slightly sceptical about is being able to mess with the monitors, I'll probably end up zapped by capacitors and stuff.

Comments What I would really like is my own pinball machine. One of my (older) mates has one in his games room, it is Williams "Taxi!" (1988) which has an alphanumeric display. I think it may be slightly dead at the moment as last time I was there I wasn't allowed to play it. Its not often I get the chance to play it as he lives in Stevenage (which is about 200 miles away from my house). I think we may be going there in the next few weeks. When I'm there I will ask him if its dead and if I can fix it (I've learnt alot about pinball repair from the internet). I don't know wether I will get the blame for its death as last time I actually played it it was acting oddly. The solenoid that actually puts the ball into the plunger chute was very weak, it needed about 3 or 4 attempts at hitting the ball before I could even begin playing, and sometimes it wouldn't do second attempts and leave me with nothing to play with.

Comments IF YOU READ ONE OF MY RECENT COMMENTS ABOUT THE DUMP READ THIS CHRIS I DIDN'T MEAN TO SAY LEEATHAL ENFORCERS WAS THE ONE ON THE DUMP, BUT THE LOGO ON THE MACHINE WAS SO SIMILAR THAT MY BRAIN WENT WEIRD AND SAID THAT IT WAS, BUT IT OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT THE ONE ON THE DUMP, THAT ONE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THOSE DAY-GLO GUNS LET ALONE ANY GUNS AT ALL. STUPID, STUPID MISTAKE THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED YOU OFFENCE. Actually it may have made you feel good that someone said that because look at how good your machine looks, if someone thought that you could do that, which of corse I do believe you can and do, is a great complement. In fact I suppose reading this message will probably cheer him up, a bit of attention eh!.

Comments Andy Conlan - are you getting the picture? This guestbook isn't for multiple entries, it's to comment on the site or about arcade machines or to ask for a particular machine. You're making this page hard work for all those who read it.

Comments Cheeky gets. I love arcade machines old and new including pinball. I did go over the top on the messages, but I realise this now. I was going to make this announcement anyway so the "A concerned reader" and the oh so funny "Another concerned reader" had better not start going all smug and going "Heh! I'm the one who got Andy to go away! look at me!" I was hoping that I could go away as a small phase in the guestbook's history and become a small legend and people would come to my website when i got it online, but no, A concerned reader had to stick their nose in and go "I should act as the authority and put a stop to this." and Another concerned reader says "That looks like a good idea I will add a message and say I helped." Neither of you where needed. I know when to stop. Didn't you see how people where joking about it? Thats all I wanted. What the hell was that comment about "He obviously thinks he's funny" YOU dont get it do you? I was the joke. thats the only reason I did this. The only thing I didn't get to do is tell off someone pretending to be me, but this...This has made it all worth while. I only wish I could see your smug faces change, slowly as you read this. Anyway, I bet you liked the attention didn't you?

Comments **SEPARATE MESSAGE TO CHRIS** I am really really sorry if you got wicked off with me ever. I hope you don't hate me for this. I think your site is great, and I'm not just saying that to suck up or make you forgive me I honestly like your site it's easy to get around. Pictures of the machines are just what you want to see when you'r deciding whether to lay out that kind of money, you can see the condition and the game actually on. I'm not lying, the dump picture was sad, and I did almost cry. I was going to stop the guestbook thing today anyway, I'm just upset that two people stuck their noses in right at the end. How dare they say that I don't like arcade machines and related subjects. how the hell do they think I found the site? I searched for arcade related websites. this was the first British one I found that actually sells machines. At the time I was looking for sites on how to build your own cabinets. I was going to look up how to make a MAME machine, with a PC inside, but then I found your site - GREAT! Please tell me your feelings on the subject of the guestbook things I did, at no time did I insult you your site or your machines (when I mistakenly did, I was really shocked and I apologised as soon as I realised). Please don't hate me. That rope thing was a good joke, but that was early on and I dont know whether you have become angry at me. As I said I was trying to be a joke myself; The boared student. I don't even know who the "concerned readers" where, but they clearly didn't get the joke, I thought that you would appreciate it and also others who also have a sense of humour. It doesn't matter that we lost a couple, but everyone else is laughing. I am only assuming this, as I dont know whether I lost everyone. I'm sorry if you where also a bit miffed, but now its been explained I hope you understand. I can't believe that I actually started doing those little colon bracket faces, like so - :). Just be happy that I wasn't one of those balloon heads, who swear on their messages.
