Comments I am a distant relative of Gideon Olmste(a)d. His father and my many times removed grandfather were brothers. I don't look anything like Uncle Gideon or, for that matter, Cousin Fred! I have a copy of his journal published by the Smithsonian in 1976 - what a wild life! The Olmste(a)ds were never dull! Best regards, Leslie

Comments An online artist friend alerted me to this website where I found some of my images displayed. This website: Arriba Vista http://www.arribavista.com/ has one of your images from your Ukrainian Museum website here: http://www.arribavista.com/ShowResult.asp?image=1566433 I don't know how many more of your images they might have. These large images are being pulled directly from your server. The thumbnail image that proceeds it is on their server. Worse still is that they have stolen photos of families and children which are being displayed in many cases on the same page with decidedly porno images! In addition, any child going into this site doing a search on any key words could possibly come across this porno material by accident owing to the arbitrary nature of their search bot. I did by doing a search on my grandaughter's name, Maggie! I very nearly fell out of my chair when I reached pages 8 and 9! Their physical contact information is: Arriba Tech Inc. (ARRIBAVISTA-DOM) 5900 Hollis Street, Suite C Emeryville, CA 94608 US Administrative Contact: Espinosa, Richard (RE1587) [email protected] 510-594-1128 I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought you would want to know about this. There are so many of us "little guys" out here that are being harmed by these unscrupulous people that I couldn't sit back and do nothing! Sondra J. Seeger

Comments I have a Question I bought a book at a second hand store and it had Margaret Rankins name on it so I decided to look up the name in the computer, and found that her name was on the Internet, with a family tree ,people who are related to her I was just wondering if this has any bearing in regards to what she liked to read. What was her background was she a teacher or a librarian and what did she look like? Please respond.... Sincerely im Castaneda Sr.

Comments My Connecticut heritage dates to early 1600s; many family names include Huntington, Griswold, Clarke,Hosmer,Buckingham Edwards, etc. The river has been a long time interest of mine in my tracking the families in that area. Many thanks for providing this very interesting, informative glimpse of the land and water our ancestors travelled.

Comments Shad Fishing We are now attempting to recapture the History of shadfishing on the Conn River and such as old articles photos of people fishing old shad lures (darts, flutter spoons etc.) and rods reels etc. used to catch shad. We also are looking for The names of winners of the Holyoke Water Power company shad derbies. There were pins given out at tournaments dating back to 1963 and we want to acquire as many as we can and display them. If you have any old photos articles and other memorabilia about shad fishing please contact us We will be displaying in the Paper City Brewery at 108 Cabot St. In Holyoke Mass. I can be reached at 413 733-0691 Thank You John Coughlin
